Takeaway
Radiation-induced meningiomas (RIM) have a high growth rate, are usually symptomatic, and likely to progress after surgical resection.
Why this matters ?
Meningiomas are the most common tumors following cranio-spinal radiotherapy and is increasingly seen more often as a result of improved cancer survival rates. There is currently no standard management of RIM.
Although surgery seems to be the most common intervention following RIM in this study, the high growth rate of these tumors may cause clinical and radiological progression.
